HORIZON YACHT CLUB is a yachting organization with over 60 members and associate members stretching from Marina Del Rey, in Los Angeles, to San Diego Harbor. We are a tightly knit group of enthusiastic yachtsmen+women from the Southern California Gay and Lesbian community, sharing a common love of Blue Water Cruising. HYC has over 40 member boats. MEMBERSHIP: Membership is limited to owners of blue water vessels (i.e. boats that can safely cross the San Pedro Channel to Catalina). Currently, member boats include Motorboats and Sailboats up to 78 Feet. CLUB ACTIVITIES: Our Charter requires that all club events take place on the water. HYC sponsors cruises throughout the warmer months in Southern California. The destinations include various Catalina harbors including Avalon, Whites Landing, Buttonshell, the Isthmus, Cat Harbor, Fourth of July Cove, Cherry Cove, and Emerald Bay. In addition, cruises are scheduled to various marinas and anchorages along the coast such as Marina Del Rey, Newport, Mission Bay and San Diego. Special HYC 10-Day Cruises include Ensenada, Mexico, and the Channel Islands. We have one formal planning meeting per year aboard the Queen Mary.
